On November 28, 2009, the Global Art of Mixing will come alive once again at the Guangzhou Stadium when some of the world’s leading artistes will collide with the finest cognac, creating an experience that will know no boundaries.
God of song Jacky Cheung, multi-talented pop sensation Kelly Rowland, soulful rock group Jaurim, and Chinese rap-rock act CMCB will show why Hennessy Artistry remains the driving force behind bringing the very best, creative talents from around the world together on one stage, for sheer brilliance in music and mixing.
Guests entering the arena will be dazzled by a three-floor dance floor, while a sky of amber lights and stunning decorations will give an experience that is out of this world. Step up to the bar and sip away the worries to forget your troubles and inhibitions with a delectable array of mixed drinks with Hennessy VSOP. Mr. Bernard Peillon, President of Hennessy Cognac will also join the night, to experience the enchanted moments when Asia and America’s finest artistes come together for a unique and genre-blending meeting of top musical minds.
Chinese rap-rock group CMCB will take the stage with Korean rockers Jaurim, blending rock, rap, and punk seamlessly. The rich voice of Kelly Rowland will swell and fill every corner as she engages in vocal bravado, going high and low leaving the crowd breathless. However, the anticipation will reach fever pitch when Jacky Cheung, whose monumental talents will make this night a true masterpiece of mixing, steps up to take the mic, effortlessly switching between styles, languages, and blurring the lines and boundaries between cultures and styles. Cheung will leave audiences speechless, reaffirming why he is considered one of the greatest musicians of his generation.
If there will be any way to top Cheung’s performance, it will be the moment when Kelly Rowland and Jacky Cheung take the stage together for a rendition of “Take Me to Your Heart.” It will be like nothing we’ve ever seen or heard before: two singers, from different musical backgrounds and cultures, bringing the best out of each other. Formed in 2000, CMCB (Chinese MC Brothers) is a rock/rap musical group based in Beijing. Unlike their peers, the band prefers to centers their lyrical content on topics that relates to teenagers than political issues. The band has also earned their reputation as the “No. 1 Rap Group in China” with their ground breaking single.Their debut album “Kung Fu” was released in 2002. The album was well received with both the local media and fans and soon kick-started the whole rock/rap music scene in China. In 2003, CMCB was nominated as the Best New Rock Band by the Beijing media.Thus far, CMBC has released four studio albums and has taken part in countless major music shows and events across China. Other than their focus on the studio albums, CMCB also puts up diverse live shows whereby they perform hard rock sets featuring heavy riffs with rockier and grungier vibe, and hip-hop rap shows that include free styling and DJ-ing.
