Kelly Rowland launched her post-Destiny’s Child solo career by teaming up with rapper Nelly in 2002, recording the vocals for the track “Dilemma” for his album Nellyville. The song ended up with a Grammy nomination for Record of the Year and earned Rowland an award in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category. Two successful solo albums—2002’s RIAA-gold certified Simply Deep, which reached #12 on the Billboard chart, and 2007’s Ms. Kelly – later, Kelly found herself ready for a change of pace and a new musical direction. Kelly ventured more into her music career after she went solo. She personally participated in the compositions of her music where she masterfully integrated hard rock and roll with perfect blend of R&B, so as to allow retro and fashionable elements to coexist together. The slow lyrical works of her solo albums flawlessly embodies the characteristics of Kelly’s voice revealing a restrained and steady temperament and unique appeal. At present, Kelly has not only created great achievements in her singing career but has also extended her career into the film and television fields.The songstress is currently hard at work for her third solo album, which she has begun to record in Los Angeles, New York and Miami, where she makes her home.
