Like a piece of haute couture, a two-sided tapestry presents a precious play on bold color, vibrant motifs and relief, at once evoking the traditional Chinese arts of brocade and embroidery, the texture of snakeskin as it is shed and renewed, and the sinuous movement of the Charente River.

Shuting Qiu's hometown of Hangzhou, China, is renowned for its traditional crafts, such as the weaving of brocade and jacquard and intricate hand-embroidery.

For Hennessy, the designer used those techniques to reimagine florals, incorporating the attributes of the serpent to tell a unique story of movement, transformation and becoming.
