Designed with newcomers in mind, the Hennessy Immersive Initiation Tour offers an introductory overview of the Maison's legacy, and reveals the secrets behind cognac-making. Start your visit with a brief crossing of the Charente River — which played an essential part in the history of Cognac and Maison Hennessy — and step into a culture of excellence.

Step into a culture of excellence in the Pavilions' Cellar, where centuries of history blend with a contemporary scenography to reveal how the Maison crafts unparalleled cognacs.

Visites Hennessy - Mobilis - virtual reality

As of May 2023, our guided tours include a mesmerizing virtual reality experience: MOBILIS, a 19-mn odyssey where heritage and craftsmanship merge seamlessly with cutting-edge technology and poetry. Inspired by sketches doodled by founder Richard Hennessy back in 1765, the brilliant French artists Olivier Kuntzel & Florence Deygas have woven a one-of-a-kind voyage that unveils the history and the DNA of Maison Hennessy.

The creation of this harmonious blend of visuals, sounds, and sensations required 2 years of work and the talent of 50 creative contributors including the engineers at Studio Backlight, one of the most awarded VR studios in the world. Prepare to be awe-struck by the colossal virtual barrel-men of MOBILIS.

As part of your tour, you will also delve into the craft of cooperage, the essential role oak casks play in ageing eaux-de-vie, and the phenomenon known as of the "angels' share".

A presentation of the Hennessy Tasting Committee's daily ritual is followed by a guided tasting of two of Hennessy's most popular cognacs, Hennessy V.S and Hennessy V.S.O.P — neat, on the rocks and in a cocktail.

This visit is accessible to visitors with special access needs. A "Mobility Inclusion" reduced ticket rate is available for them and a guest, bookable online or by email directly with our team.

Please note that pets are not allowed on the grounds.

For health and safety reasons, the use of virtual reality headsets is reserved to visitors aged 12 and above.

For all visitors aged 12 and above, please note that exposure to virtual reality can disrupt the sensory system and may lead to various mild symptoms (such as nausea, vertigo, cold sweats, paleness or loss of balance) that wear off quickly. The use of these technologies is not recommended for people who suffer from epileptic seizures or sensitive people (pregnant women, people suffering from motion sickness or prone to migraines or panic attacks).

Alternative activities are available for visitors not participating in the virtual reality experience. Minors have to be accompanied by an adult in the non-virtual room.
