SAZERAC COCKTAIL
The Sazerac, named after a famous bar in Louisiana, was created in 1850 by Aaron Bird, an inspired mixologist. The cognac’s warmth and spices, coupled with the bitters and balanced out by crisp notes of lemon, blends with the absinthe perfectly.

- 4 parts Hennessy V.S.O.P
- 0.5 part Absinthe
- 1 part Simple syrup
- 4 dashes Peychaud's bitters
- 1 Lemon zest


- Combine the Hennessy V.S.O.P, syrup, and bitters in a mixing glass with ice cubes.
- Stir until well chilled.
- Pour .25 oz of Absinthe in a rocks glass. Coat the inside of the glass.
- Pour chilled ingredients from mixing glass into Absinthe rinsed rocks glass.
- Garnish with lemon twist.
