In the warmer months, begin your discovery with a short crossing of the Charente aboard our solar-powered boat, a tribute to the traditional flat-bottomed boats that once transported Hennessy cognacs to the ocean. In the off-season, our air-conditioned bus will take over to transport you from one bank to the other.
Take in the picturesque riverside landscapes, the imposing Porte Saint-Jacques, and the majestic Château de Cognac, birthplace of famous Renaissance French King François I.
Your visit starts in the Pavillons’ Cellar, where centuries of history blend with a contemporary scenography to reveal how our passionate artisans meticulously create cognacs of unparalleled quality.
Continue to the venerable Faïencerie cellar, one of our traditional ageing cellars. A place where time stands still. Within its softly lit confines, hundreds of barrels are meticulously aligned, embodying a timeless mystique that spans generations.
There, delve into the art of blending and ageing eaux-de-vie, and discover the natural phenomenon known as the "angels' share".
Next, you'll get a rare opportunity to visit the prestigious "Paradis" cellar — a repository for some of Maison Hennessy's oldest eaux-de-vie, usually inaccessible to visitors.
Your visit includes a mesmerizing virtual reality experience: MOBILIS, a 19-mn odyssey blending poetry with cutting-edge technology. Inspired by sketches doodled by founder Richard Hennessy, French artists Olivier Kuntzel & Florence Deygas have woven a one-of-a-kind voyage that unveils the history and the DNA of Maison Hennessy.
The creation of this harmonious blend of visuals, sounds, and sensations required 2 years of work and the talent of 50 creative contributors. MOBILIS was voted 'Best Innovation' at the 2024 Wine Tourism Awards and 2025 ‘Best of Wine’ awards in Bordeaux.
Your journey culminates with an exclusive glimpse into the Hennessy Tasting Committee's daily ritual – a pursuit of excellence unique to our Maison – and a guided tasting of three exceptional blends: James Hennessy, Hennessy X.O, and Hennessy X.X.O, perfectly paired with gourmet macarons. A truly epicurean journey for discerning spirit lovers.
James Hennessy is delicate blend created as a tribute to our Founder’s son. Made from eaux-de-vie aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 6 years, this remarkable cognac displays beautiful shades of amber and offers layers of smooth, toasty aromas.
Silky, yet well structured, it expands across the palate with notes of roasted almonds, Madagascar vanilla, apricot, pistachio and blood peach, evoking both the suppleness of a finely woven fabric and the airy lightness of a génoise sponge.
In 1870, Maurice Hennessy created Hennessy X.O for his circle of friends and introduced a new style of cognac. Hennessy X.O is the Original, the emblematic icon of the Hennessy Maison.
Deep and powerful, the eaux-de-vie in this blend are aged in young barrels for a minimum of 10 years and marked out by their power and energy. Candied fruit and strong spicy notes tantalize the palate, intertwined with the rich flavor of dark chocolate and the ebb and flow of oak notes interlaced with vanilla.
Hennessy X.X.O was first created in 1870 alongside Hennessy X.O, when Master Blender Emile Fillioux set aside eaux-de-vie with great potential, aged in traditional oak barrels for a minimum of 14 years. The result was such a significant find that it was launched around the world in 1871.
The visionary taste of Hennessy X.O assembles opposite forces into one composition, combining a powerful structure with an aerial fineness. A rich, expressive nose gives way to a long finish characteristic of rare cognacs. Its aromatic landscape ranges from vegetal to spicy, with notes of bitter orange and freshly grated nutmeg, licorice stick, dried peppermint leaf and delicate spices.

This visit is fully accessible to visitors with special access needs. A "Mobility Inclusion" reduced ticket rate is available for them and a guest, bookable online or by email directly with our team.

For health and safety reasons, the use of virtual reality headsets is reserved to visitors aged 12 and above. Please note that exposure to virtual reality can disrupt the sensory system and may lead to various mild symptoms (such as nausea or vertigo) that wear off quickly. The use of these technologies is not recommended for people who suffer from epileptic seizures or sensitive people (eg pregnant women or people prone to panic attacks).
Alternative activities are available for visitors not participating in the VR experience. Please note that children under 12 will need ot be accompanied by an adult in the non-player area.
